Contemporary Dance embodies freedom of movement, a personal search for inner energy and a constant desire to investigate further; this is a dominant feature of our times, where we come to question every one of the forms of artistic expression.

Thus, this dance form marks the rhythm of present-day life and allows all dancers to develop and express themselves in an individual manner.

Contemporary Dance was only added to the RCPD syllabus in the 2000-2001 academic year. However, it has already managed to consolidate itself and forge its distinctive character, firmly establishing it as an innovative discipline that constantly treads new ground.
